About Us

Our Story

Our family is the 3rd generation living on this farm. Up until 2017 our farm had been a dairy farm. From 2017-2019 we changed our direction and started focusing on gathering more information about Murray Grey cattle, known for their feed efficiency, temperament, tenderness and carcass scores. We also discovered Idaho Pasture Pigs and based on their temperament, slower growth, lack of need for corn, amazing grazing abilities that produce a flavorful tender end product decided they would be a great addition to our homestead.

When we still had the dairy farm we had already began the transition of some of our fields to organic and we continued and completed that process in the years that followed. Raising crops organically has its own set of challenges. We are not able to use the pesticides and herbicides that conventional farms use to control weeds and diseases. This makes crop scouting a routine job. Checking all fields to stay ahead of weed pressure with the use of tine weeding and cultivating.

Organic fields don’t look perfect but we strive for a little bit “cleaner” every year. We would like to implement some new equipment in the coming years to aide with weed control.

Our beef has always been available by quarters and halves but as some of our customers turned into empty nesters the need for such large quantities dwindled. We saw the need for smaller quantities and took a gamble that our customers would want the individual cut option. They did! As of August 2023 we will have pork offerings too. As the times have changed we have seen the need to change direction once again. This time keeping up with the digital world. We have began working with Barn 2 Door to create an online ordering platform. We are excited to bring this new way of ordering to our customers! Our hope is that it streamlines the ordering process and saves precious time for all involved.
